Problem Statement
When compared with academic goals, most students fail to achieve their personal goals. The vast majority of people procrastinate and finish their tasks at the last minute.
Goal
Build a study app that motivates users to stay on track and be more productive by keeping them accountable for their goals.

Understanding the User
I discovered that many target users frequently struggle to complete their personal tasks or assignment at a reasonable hour; the vast majority of target users procrastinate and complete their tasks at the last minute. A higher power is always required to hold them accountable for their goals.
Pain Point 1
Users are unable to stay motivated and committed to personal goals. Most target users start off strong in setting goals, but quickly lose motivation and momentum.
Pain Point 2
Platforms for productivity are frequently lacking in options for increasing accountability.
Pain Point 3
In situations where customers reserve a large number of tickets, platforms rarely offer the option of distributing the tickets to the appropriate owners.

Starting the Design

Paper Wireframe
Taking the time to draft iterations of each screen ensured that the elements that made it to digital wireframes would address user pain points.
I made sure to include a status feed page: By adding a feed page where users can post, like, and comment, they will be motivated to reach their goals. A user's desire to reach their goals is often sparked by seeing others achieve them.
Digital Wireframe
Throughout the initial design phase, I made sure to base screen design on feedback and user research findings.

Usability Testing
I created a fully-functional, high-fidelity prototype of the new flows using FIGMA. At the same time, I started recruiting subjects for the test who fit our criteria.

Issue 01
Users need better cues for switching between feed and study rooms
Solution 01
Following usability tests, I revised the design to include a Feed page and Top nav buttons where users can switch between the Study room and the Trending feed page.

UI Design
Once the usability issues were resolved, I moved on to design the final screens in Figma. My goal was to create a visual identity that's aligned with the brand's values.

Sustainability Impact
Users earn sustainability certificates after completing 1000 hours on the platform, reinforcing the environmental mission of planting trees for achieved goals.
